Although cabin plans can still be purchase this way, the age of the Internet, has expanded the possibilities of locating the perfect floor plan from your PC right in the privacy of your own home.
Today the Internet has sped things up a bit. Search engines have become more powerful in helping you locate the things you are interested in. Searching for the perfect cabin plans has never been easier, just type your search, like “cabin plans”, “small cabin plans”, or “log cabin plan” into your favorite search engine and you'll be well on your way. When your search results appear, and you select a web site that you think may have what you want, there are a few important criteria that should be met before you continue on.
There should also be a quick link directly on web page that will take you to an entire collection of cabin plans, so that you can compare one plan to another.
Small cabin plans would normally be considered cabins whose floor plans are less than 1,000 square feet, for example. You should be able to only view plans under that floor plan size. Good log cabin plan sites will have extra features you can include when searching, such
as kitchen layout preferred, special rooms desired, foundation type and how you want the results sorted - by most popular plans shown first, largest to smallest and so on.

Free Cabin building Plans sounds like an enticing offer but usually, these log home plans are not the best choice for a new home planning kit. Free log cabin blueprints can be illegal if they are being offered by a company or individual who does not have full rights to reproduce these plans. Most home building plans are sold on a per house copyright agreement meaning that you may build one house using the one particular plan. In order to build another home using the same plan, the builder must purchase an additional license. If someone is offering a free cabin plan when they haven't purchased the license, you may be responsible for committing copyright infringement, a Federal offense. Generally it is a good idea to avoid free home plans and this rings true with building your own cabin from a stock building plan as well.
